George Town Literary Festival 2017 | Book Launch: 'Tina's Journey'

  • The Women's Aid Organisation (WAO) is launching a book of pictures and poetry as a new public education effort on domestic violence.
  • Tina’s Journey is created from the words written by survivors of domestic violence, the result of Bernice Chauly’s two-year workshops with the residents of WAO’s crisis shelter, empowering them with a voice of their own.
  • Tina’s Journey is curated by Bernice Chauly and Kelvin Ang, and illustrated by Chan Wen Li. As part of the launch, several survivors will be reading from their own works.
  • This project is funded by KL Writers Workshop, Selangor Properties Berhad and the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC).
